Update on PTC Supported Legislation

April 29, 2025

The 89th legislation is quickly drawing to a close. Any bills not heard before May 12 are essentially dead, and the last day of session is June 12. Protecting Texas Children is working hard to pass key bills that support our mission before the clock runs out.

Two key bills we are tracking are SB 1257 and SB 240. SB 240, the Women’s Privacy Act, was passed by the Senate and sent to the House for further consideration.

SB 1257, which would require health benefit plan coverage for gender transition adverse effects and reversals, is heading to the House of Representatives, where it will undergo a committee review, potential amendments, and voting. If it passes the House, it will be sent to the Governor for approval or veto.

Bills like these are not only crucial for protecting women and children; they reset our societal norms to reflect biological reality and biblical principles. If passed, this legislation will serve as a strong defense for the relentless attacks of those seeking to brainwash, pervert, and mutilate the next generation.
