On July 4, 2025, President Trump celebrated Independence Day by signing the One Big Beautiful Bill into law. The passage of this legislation signifies a massive victory for the pro-life movement and family values. This bill defunds Planned Parenthood, ends the use of taxpayer dollars for abortion, and halts federal funding for gender transition treatments on children. Though the provision to defund Planned Parenthood is only for one year, pro-lifers are encouraged that this will strengthen future efforts to completely defund this organization.
Planned Parenthood states that as many as 200 “health centers” will most likely be shut down, and the organization will lose approximately $500 million of funding. Countless lives and families will be saved thanks to this action by the President. Protecting Texas Children will continue the fight to save the lives of babies and to end the practice of gender transitioning that is being pushed by organizations like Planned Parenthood.
PTC President Vanessa Sivadge is heading to Washington, D.C., this week to speak at a workshop hosted by the Federal Trade Commission to determine unfair or deceptive trade practices in “gender-affirming care” for minors.
Vanessa was invited to testify for these vulnerable children using her experience as a whistleblower. Other invited speakers include doctors, medical ethicists, detransitioners, and their parents.
The speakers’ testimonies and perspectives are expected to confirm that medical professionals have omitted warnings about the risks of gender transition procedures or made false or unsupported claims about the benefits or effectiveness of these treatments. If the FTC is convinced, it has the authority to intervene.
The FTC has the authority to protect consumers from deceitful or harmful practices. Vanessa is excited to share her own perspective and to provide proof that gender transition procedures are harming children. Click the link below for more information and to watch the live stream. Vanessa will be speaking at 12:40 Eastern Time on Wednesday, so mark your calendars!
