A controversial online “hormone subscription service” has officially expanded into the United States, led by a figure whose record should alarm every parent and medical professional.

The service is run by Helen Webberley, founder of GenderGP, who has faced years of scrutiny and disciplinary action overseas.

• In 2018, she was fined for operating an unregistered clinic.
• In 2022, a medical tribunal found she failed to fully explain fertility risks or provide appropriate follow-up care to patients.
• In 2024, she surrendered her UK medical license amid allegations of serious misconduct.

Despite this history, Webberley now markets hormones that cause irreversible damage to American customers.

Even more troubling is her public advocacy for prescribing cross-sex hormones to children as young as nine. She has argued that children begin expressing gender identity at ages four or five and that “the first time” a child claims a different gender, adults should affirm it. Webberley has also suggested that eight-year-olds can give “informed consent” to medical interventions that carry lifelong consequences.

Reports indicate that GenderGP has prescribed hormones to children under 16 in the UK—testosterone and estrogen that can permanently alter a child’s body, including changes to voice, breast growth, and fertility. These practices stand in stark contrast to findings from the Cass Review, which prompted major restrictions on medicalized gender transition for minors in England due to safety concerns and lack of evidence.

Yet Webberley has now expanded this model into U.S. states that remain permissive toward these interventions, putting vulnerable children at risk.
