Vanessa Defends Children During D.C. Committee Hearing

April 15, 2025

Last week, PTC President Vanessa Sivadge was invited to testify in the House Judiciary Committee in D.C. in a hearing titled, “Ending Lawfare Against Whistleblowers Who Protect Children.”

Vanessa’s credentials as a nurse were challenged by the committee’s Ranking Member, U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania Mary Scanlon. Scanlon said, “You don’t have a medical degree, correct? You don’t have a license to practice as a psychologist, a psychiatrist, or a doctor. Is that correct?”

Vanessa replied, “I have common sense. I know the difference between right and wrong.” She said that one does not need credentials to recognize that the sterilization of children is not life-saving medicine.

The Committee Chair, U.S. Representative Chip Roy (R-TX), asked Vanessa why these social transition procedures are so horrific. Vanessa explained that these irreversible treatments would result in infertility and the inability to conceive and have children in the future.

Vanessa explained that doctors were intentionally misdiagnosing patients, using preferred genders instead of biological ones, and committing insurance fraud by lying on patient charts.

Vanessa asked during the hearing, “Why are we pushing, as a society, a solution that will irreversibly harm and sterilize children’s bodies?” She believes that people should “affirm and celebrate God’s design for our gender and sexuality and that it is something that should be defended.”

Vanessa and Protecting Texas Children fight every day to protect the innocence of children and defend them from dangerous entities intent on causing them harm.
