The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Civil Rights has launched an investigation into Texas Children’s Hospital for firing pediatric nurse, whistleblower, and PTC President Vanessa Sivadge for requesting religious exemptions.
The hospital fired Sivadge, who requested religious exemptions to avoid having to administer sex-change hormones and puberty blockers to children. HHS is investigating whether the hospital violated a federal law known as the Church Act.
HHS has created guidelines and an online portal for whistleblowers to report complaints regarding the chemical and surgical mutilation of children to the HHS Office of the Inspector General.
This investigation was launched following Vanessa’s testimony at the U.S. Capitol. She testified about the illegal gender mutilation procedures being done on children at the hospital and how she was targeted by the FBI for revealing the hospital’s crimes to the public.
Vanessa was asked to provide her testimony to help reform guidelines for whistleblowers in the healthcare industry, and the online portal is part of that reform that she helped influence.
The acting HHS Office of Civil Rights director, Anthony Archeval, said of the investigation, “The Department will robustly enforce federal laws protecting these courageous whistleblowers, including laws that protect healthcare professionals from being forced to violate their religious beliefs or moral convictions.”
Vanessa and Protecting Texas Children are thankful to the Trump administration for protecting whistleblowers and victims of medical abuse.
