We need your help! We are running out of time to pass legislation that will protect Texas children. Please call Chairman Ken King, Chair of the State Affairs Committee, today and demand he give a hearing to HB 2258, the Vulnerable Youth Protection Act, which will ban social transitioning procedures on minors, and HB 239, the Women’s Privacy Act, which will prevent men from invading women’s private spaces.
These bills will provide protections for vulnerable women and children from people with the intent to harm them. It will keep women safe from men claiming to be women, and children safe from sexual predators and medical professionals intent on grooming and mutilating them.
PTC President Vanessa Sivadge submitted commentary to Texas Scorecard explaining the value of these bills aimed at protecting children and the lack of traction they are receiving in the Texas House.
Vanessa explains that Chairman Ken King looks to be killing HB 2258. Speaker Burrows has also failed to show support for it, so the chances of it moving forward are slim.
