PTC on The Sweet Tea Series

March 25, 2025

PTC President Vanessa Sivadge appeared on the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s The Sweet Tea Series podcast with Ariana Guajardo.

Vanessa shared more of her story about how she blew the whistle on Texas Children’s Hospital and how her experience led her to start Protecting Texas Children, an advocacy organization for children in the political world.

Vanessa knew that what she was witnessing in the secret children’s transgender department in the hospital was illegal, immoral, and irreparably harming children. The hospital covered up the existence of this department by writing the child’s preferred gender on the medical forms instead of the child’s biological sex, or by saying a little boy has an estrogen deficiency and prescribing hormones.

In her interview, she said, “For parents who love their children very deeply, I believe that parents are misled and manipulated into believing in this course of treatment… They’re convinced that this is a life-saving treatment.” She knew something needed to be done to end the manipulation of parents and the mutilation of children.

When she discovered Medicaid funds being illegally used to fund transgender procedures, she sounded the alarm.

She was intimidated and harassed by the FBI, and fired from her job in spite of the law, all for telling the truth. In the interview, Vanessa explained, “Instead of investigating a medical institution for concealing their crime, they’re investigating the pediatric nurse who exposed the crime.”

Her faith in God pushed her to blow the whistle because she believed that God created two genders. Her faith in God is also what she held onto in the uncertain time that followed.

In Vanessa’s experience as a nurse, so many of the children going to gender clinics have experienced trauma and abuse that is often the root cause behind their gender confusion.

Vanessa explains to viewers that she started PTC because she is passionate about discovering the root cause behind children’s gender confusion and getting these children real help that will allow them to live out their lives the way that God intended.

When asked what gave her the courage to blow the whistle, she responded, “God will equip you with the courage to be obedient.” And this obedience led to the founding of an advocacy organization solely designed to protect children.
