United States Attorney General Pam Bondi recently criticized the Biden administration for encouraging the gender mutilation of children and exploiting vulnerable parents.
President Trump made an Executive Order in January prohibiting gender transition surgeries. Bondi issued a memorandum providing guidance “to all Department of Justice employees to enforce rigorous protections and hold accountable those who prey on vulnerable children and their parents.”
Bondi explained that the Department of Justice will take action to protect children and bring to justice those who harm them under the pretense of medical care. Her memorandum read,
In the United States, it is a felony to perform, attempt to perform, or conspire to perform female genital mutilation (‘FGM’) on any person under the age of 18. That crime carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years per count.
The Department of Justice will also investigate medical providers and pharmaceutical companies that misled and deceived the public about gender transition procedures. Bondi stated that no one providing these services will escape liability.
