Trump Highlights Victim of Child Transitioning at State of the Union

Last week, the nation tuned in to listen to President Trump’s State of the Union address. The president covered many topics, such as immigration, the economy, and foreign policy, but also spent time attacking the left’s practice of transitioning children and highlighting a survivor of the abuse: Sage Blair. 

Sage was a victim of social transitioning when school officials in Virginia convinced her at 14-years old to begin dressing and acting as a boy. Sage’s transition caused an emotional nightmare for her, which ended with her running away from home and falling into the hands of sex traffickers. She was rescued in Texas and now has detransitioned, living as a woman. 

President Trump said of her situation: “Surely we can all agree—no state can be allowed to rip children from their parents’ arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents’ will. We must ban it, and ban it now.”

Sage was a victim of the same vicious ideology that PTC is fighting to protect our children from; however, her story also shows a threat that is often overlooked—social transitioning. Social transitioning is the act of psychologically grooming a child to believe that they were born in the wrong body. It is a deranged practice by pro-trans adults, teachers, and often therapists that encourages children to change their pronouns, name, hair, and clothing to align with a false gender identity. What many people fail to realize is that the practice of socially transitioning a child to embrace a false transgender identity ultimately leads to irreversible medical transition: puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and gender mutilating surgeries. Girls are not born wanting to be boys-they are guided and manipulated into irreversible medical interventions by radical adults: and it all starts with social transitioning.  

Social transitioning is often hidden from parents and is not covered by laws that ban transgender surgeries for minors. 

This allows transgender advocates in schools and other institutions to influence a child’s understanding of their sexuality without being caught or suffering repercussions. Social transitioning is both a loophole and a form of grooming that inflicts harm on children in ways parents may not know until it is too late.

In Sage’s case, her school used the emotional trauma she was under to pry her away from her home and parents and thrust her into an LGBTQ lifestyle that led to her being sex trafficked. Sage’s story shows us that even if a teacher or doctor is not physically harming our children, they can still be manipulated, abused, and brainwashed by evil influences in their communities. 
Protecting Texas Children stands against any form of transitioning done to children, medical or social. We cannot allow our kids to be manipulated by social transitioning into situations where they are harmed by permanent mutilation, sex trafficking, or other forms of abuse. Texas needs laws to ban this child abuse, and PTC will strive to enact them.

Ken Paxton Declares it Illegal for Mental Health Providers to Transition Children

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken his war on wokeness to the next level. Paxton just released a Monday landmark legal opinion declaring it illegal for mental health providers to “transition” children. 

The opinion states that the prohibitions of SB 14, a Texas law that bans transitioning minors, extend to mental health care providers, such as psychologists or counselors. It bars professionals who aim to transition a child’s sex from receiving public money for those efforts and puts their licenses to practice at risk of revocation.

Paxton said, “This opinion should send a clear warning there will be consequences for any medical professional, whether a doctor or a therapist, who is illegally ‘transitioning’ Texas kids.” 

PTC President Vanessa Sivadge applauded this move by AG Paxton, stating, “At a time when approximately 68% of mental health professionals identify as liberal or very liberal, compared to only about 6% as conservative … it is especially important to ensure that ideology does not override evidence, parental rights, or child welfare.”
This opinion shuts the door on a common strategy used by transgender activists on the left. Many of them have jobs as mental health care providers, such as school counselors or psychologists, and will use that position to claim that transitioning a child is a form of health care. Now, the Attorney General is putting them under legal threat for this, and will hopefully be able to charge them with crimes for socially transitioning kids. Health professionals of any type should not be allowed to use their own ideological views to justify harming children.
